Just been reading my stuff from snoworks and a lift pass is not included. Obviously I'll need to get a pass, but would it be better to get one now from the Tignes website or wait till I get out there?

Tomsk, good question. I was just going to get mine when I got there. Anyone else got any thoughts on this? One thing I've learned from snowHeads - get the Carre (or is it Carte?? I can never remember  ) Neige (additional insurance that'll get you off the mountain) when you buy your lift pass.
Which reminds me, must also renew my annual Direct Travel insurance - it expires 11 Dec so had better get it done before I go & get my discount for unbroken cover.

cathy, Tomsk, I am getting mine there and will also get the carre neige too. I must ring Blue Marble today to find out my return flight times, which I assume will be the same as cathy's.

cathy, Tomsk, I have just been in touch with Blue Marble. As yet they have NOT received my (and proabably yours too) flight tickets and could only confirm that my return flight is XLA 6075 10.15 from Geneva, but that untill they receive the tickets that this flight could change.
Ski passes: you need to have a photograph even though they are electronic.

Thanks IncogSkiSno, I guess I'd better hope that the flight is at least on that day then! And thanks for the tip about the photo required - I normally do have a few with me, but not needing them for Austria or Canada I've kinda got out of the habit of thinking about photos.

I've been looking around Val D'isere sites and they say, for the new electronic passes, photos are only needed if the pass is eight days or more.

I'll be getting a pass once I'm there (taking a photo with me just in case). I don't want to risk buying a pass online only for it to arrive by post the day after I've left!

Tomsk, cathy, Not sure if this will affect you, but as we are not returning with BA, this may mean we won't get free Ski/boot baggage, so I shall be ringing Blue Marble on Monday

IncogSkiSno, ah thanks. Although we've never had any probs with skis on the return flight, it's only ever the reps at the airport on the way out that make you pay a supplement - staff at airports on the way back never ask to see the receipt that you've paid the extra. I think Excel is a charter airline rather than the no frills like easyjet/ryan air. Will be good to hear what Blue Marble say.

a) be in such a state that replacing any equipment would be irrelevant

cathy, yes, I'm arriving in the resort on Thursday for a long weekend (staying in Les Arcs but 'commuting' to Tignes). I was hoping to watch the Downhill in Val d'Isere, but now that has been cancelled I'll just have to ski instead I've got IncogSkiSno's mobile number so I'll pop along to the Aiguille Percee and meet up with you lot there.
