Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi all
I'm looking to get a second skitrip in this year (first is in La Thuile in early March) but due to work issues i cant get further time off until May, possibly mid-May.
Does anybody know of any European resorts that have been/will be open at that stage of the season and that have any snow??
Thanks

I doubt you'll get a full resort: Val-Thorens is the highest altitude resort in Europe and closes in the first week of May.
There are a number of glaciers which would still be operational and once you're up there, if the snow cover's good enough, u can ski all the way down again - Tignes springs to mind (I think the glacier would still be open then). Hintertux glacier is open then I'm sure.
THere are a few resorts in the States that stay open later though.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

drkpower, not strictly speaking in Europe, but Mammoth (California) will still be in full swing, or close, and Sunshine (Banff will still be going in early May, all being well.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Zermatt is the only glacier that opens every day of the year (others take breaks), so that has to be top of the list.
