Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

End of Season Bash or Family Bash

I will hopefully be going to Val Thorens the week of 12th-19th April next year with my teenage son. Do people sometimes stay in different accommodation, but join the group for skiing and/or socialising together, or does everyone stay in the same accommodation? TIA.

People generally stay in the same accommodation because it's about more than just meeting up to ski. But you'd probably be welcome to meet up if you do decide to pay more to stay elsewhere. Presumably lessons would go as a priority to bash attendees proper.

I have done basically this three times now, one Family Bash and the last two EoSBs, booked an apartment elsewhere in VT for the same week.

I mostly just skied with snowHead that I already knew though and only met up with them for two evenings last week. Social skiing groups tend to form up on the public piste outside the Oxalys at 9am each day, I guess you could try introducing yourself and asking if you could join one.

The Oxalys apartments and facilities are to a high standard and the bash price is a good deal for what is provided.

Thank you very much. My teenage son is a bit shy and isn't sure about sharing an apartment, but he would like people to ski with, as he's always been in ski school till now and they do a teen group doing much more fun stuff than he can do with me... I would love people to ski with too, and have enjoyed ski school adult classes the last 3 times, for company and the tips.

@Wishy2206, there are quieter smaller apartments available if necessary, but you would at least have a room and bathroom to yourself.

@Wishy2206, I've twice stayed in a quiet apartment with just two bedrooms.

@Wishy2206, there can be quite a range of ages of children in the Family Bash, whereas the End Of Season Bash tends to be much more the normal range of snowHeads adults, fewer children. I think you would find it possible to control the extent that you get involved with others in a shared apartment. Certainly, both of these bashes are great value and great fun.
