Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cervinia/Zermatt 17th March - up to 2 places in an apartment

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi.

We've booked an apartment in a great spot in Cervinia, very close to the slopes and everything else.

The apartment sleeps up to 6, but at the minute there's just 2 going, costing £952, or £476 each. If more people go, they increase price by £25 per person per night, so if 3 went, it would be £375 each. If 4 went, it would be £325 each. I think it would be not as comfortable with more than 4.

This is the place: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/30098527?check_in=2024-03-17&check_out=2024-03-24&guests=1&adults=2&s=67&unique_share_id=60f6777d-2d2a-4516-8acb-a01c8c912cdb

We've also booked our flights to Turin with Jet2 from Birmingham. Flights were £172 including Skis. We'll hire a car, which will probably be about £75 each.

We'll buy International passes, and go to Zermatt pretty much every day it's open. We're also Ski Club GB members, and have been there twice before with their guide Howard, who should be there again for this week next year. This will be my 4th trip there, I love it.

We'll smuggle a few sausages and bacon for breakfast, but eat out in the evening.

We're oldish guys. 63 years and 60 years. We don't act it though Smile.

Hi,

I'm interested. Just me but that would make three! I know the area...well I've been to both Zermatt and Cervina. I'd bring the average age down but alas not as much as I'd like.

Would be interested in chatting and to see if it might work for me to join you.

Best,

Rob

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hope I'm OK to bump this.

As posted above, it's an apartment that can sleep 6, but really probably more comfortable with 4.

Great deal really, if 4 go it's going to be less than £600 for apartment, flight and hire car. Got to be interesting to someone wanting to ski Cervinia and Zermatt.

Hmmm...I'm 34 and just got a flight to Geneva from Los Angeles with the intention of going to Zermatt but this is indeed interesting

Well The_Intrepid, you're welcome to join us.

Much as I love Cervinia, it's not as glamorous nor as beautiful as Zermatt. You do get to ski the exact same area though, and for likely a lot less than half the price. Even the lift pass that covers the exact same area, is considerably cheaper if bought on the Cervinia side. Still got great places to eat out though - even a Michelin 3* that's well worth a visit, and isn't too expensive. You'd also get one of the finest meals on Earth for breakfast - Full English(or Full Welsh - according to the Kevin I'm going with). That's assuming customs don't confiscate our sausages and bacon.

Not sure what your best way to get to Cervinia would be. Most likely a train to Turin, and a trip up with us.

Hi Swimsutty.

I live in Ashby de la Zouch. A mate is coming down from Durham, likely the night before.

Where are you?

Hi Coulfeet.

No, just 2 of us still, so would be great to have you along. I’m replying on Kev’s phone who’s also going(I don’t have my login details with me). We’re just on our way back from St Anton. We get 9:40am ferry.

I’ll PM you my telephone number when I get home, and we can have a chat if you like.

Cheers,
