That's the first time I've seen this course in a condition I might think of scrabbling down ... and not leave a pink/brown (delete as required) stain smeared across the piste

Masque, Shall we delete the pink, wouldn't want any blood and guts, and the brown could be quite amusing . . . one or two planks?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Amazing, Buchel takes the lead but just 5 one/hundredths of a second cover the podium places.

Should that matter? Just because you're deficient in snow skills doesn't mean that we all should be

I'd have thought it'd be more suited to Walchhofer, with his ability to 'muscle out' the turns. Surprised he wasn't picked, but I suppose the Austrians are spoilt for choice with only four slots.
Gruber just having a 'mare tho.

It was an amazing recovery!
Bode took fifth in the downhill, which I suppose many skiers would be content with, but no he's not having a great Games.

Nothing for Benny then. Nick Fellows just said the word around is that Walchhofer wasn't in due to 'a drink too many' celebrating his silver...

Go Maier!!!

Maier takes Silver! Looks like Aamodt has it - is this his second or third SuperG gold?

Great result! Delighted for Aamodt & good to see Herman get a medal.

Great news for the first two skiers - good to see these guys still given the youngsters a run for their money!

snowbunny, I'm thinking of taking up the skeleton bob and save all that dicking about between upright and horizontal and the pain it usually entails

Did Pierre Dalcin from France give the finger after his second attempt or was I seeing things (anybody recorded it)?
|
|
|

DB, that's what it looked like to me. Not a happy man, he would have preferred to keep his time from the first run rather than race again tired. As would have happened in the World Cup...

rob@rar.org.uk, French press say it wasn't a gesture to anyone in particular, he was looking up at the scoreboard and the times registered, the 'finger' was in that direction...
|
|
|
|
|
|
PG, Yes .. they also say that the gesture was 'earned' by the officials

Understandable frustration. It was difficult to tell from the TV footage who/whethter it was directed.

So that's 5,000 Swiss Francs (why swiss Francs?) and one Gold piece it cost him.
Poor bloke, I mean I know he's French but nobody deserves that
