Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Fernie in April?

There seem to have been lots of Fernie posts recently but none have covered this. I'm considering a really good deal for Fernie from 4 - 15 April. Bit worried though whether that is too late for decent conditions. It's not very high and actually closes about then too (guess it's probably closing week). Ski Club historical snow reports show depths tailing off pretty quickly around that time. Anyone been around that time or any further information?

We did Fernie in April 2004. It was a bad snow year anyway, but we got some pretty good skiing in - see my resort report in the alphabetical list here

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

April 4-15th might be risky - that's why it's a good deal. On an average year, you'd be fine, but ya never know.

Lake Loiuse and Sunshine are top April choices .... highly reliable. As is Whistler.

I did it in April 2005, a bad snow year, so they said, but there was loads. I was there for 2 weeks, in which time we had over 4 feet of fresh. We skied right up until they closed the resort at the end of season, but there was still loads of snow.

PhotoTim, It's actually for next season when Easter is later and I guess it will close later. I'll have to think about this one all the same, seems a bit risky.
