Poster: A snowHead

Lesley McKenna, world-class snowboarder and reigning Superstars champion, has a new movie - Dropstitch - which documents a year of life on the snowboard road, across the globe...
And the BBC sound pretty enthusiastic about it: "The film is beautifully shot with plenty of mesmerising mountain images and a kick-ass soundtrack to boot."
Lesley says "I think the film is entertaining, motivational and inspirational.
Hopefully girls who are interested in snowboarding but have not really tried it, will give it a go."
Here's the BBC's report.
If anyone's seen it, you're welcome to comment below.

DropStitch is the first ever feature length international snowboard film showcasing the world's best female snowboarders. It is masterminded by the UK's only Olympic Snowboarder and World Cup winner Lesley McKenna.
Filmed over a year in Iceland, NZ, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, The United States, and the European Alps, DropStitch will document the lifestyle of professional snowboarders being pushed to their limits.
DropStitch will document girls who have taken a male dominated sport and made it their own against all the odds. Snowboarding brings out the best in them and helps them fulfil their aspirations and live their lives in an independent unconventional way - mirroring how modern women look at life in general.
The film will celebrate the achievements of those girls at the forefront of the sport. It's about bringing talent, inspiration and devotion to the general population, introducing snowboarding to girls who have never tried, and inspiring those who have, to follow their dream.
DropStitch isn't just a film - it is something that has excited the international snowboard industry from core Company Directors to snowboard magazine editors to the British snowboarding public. |

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks, PG. I'd not popped into Snowboarding recently (what an admission), missed your posting, and was prompted to run this story by the BBC doing its news item today.
Hey, it's time Lesley became an honorary snowHead!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It's a decent DVD, nicely put together and a good viewing time too. Some nasty footage of injuries to a couple of the girls - especially McKenna's lip!
