Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone recently been skiing in Serbia?
I would like some info on the resort of Kopaonik? I have a bit already from someone on this site but would like a bit more.
Cheers

Yes - went January this year. Rather than repeat it all here I suggest you go to
www.infokop.net
There is an English forum, webcam, photos, trip reports and loads more.
Also visit and explore the genex site, starting with:

I'd definitely recommend it if you are on a budget and happy with a quieter, less-commercialised small resort. Go with Thomson/Crystal instead of Balkan if you want a shorter transfer. They fly from Gatwick to Nis (2.5 hrs on coach transfer) on Sundays. Balkan go Heathrow-Belgrade on Sats but then you have FIVE hours on a coach!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes, but yonks ago!
Still remember that little poma, or rather the chair above. Always remember to take a supply of snowballs on the chair to pelt people on the poma!
The transfer from Belgrade was *long* partly because it was at night and didn't trust the driver or the bus enough to sleep and obviously couldn't see a lot. It was a late Easter trip, second week of April and we did wonder if we would ever find snow, eventually after countless hairpins a cheer errupted when we saw the first snow bank at the side of the road!
Was very hot most of the week, temperature well into the 20's c, every night the staff rebuilt the uptrack on lift no 6 a poma that zig zaged its way up some blacks, out with wheelbarrows, shovels and kassbohrers!
There was a pizza place near the knochi apartments that was amazing, you could have a full cooked breakfast on a pizza! There was also a club there that happily served shots to anyone that could reach the bar. This was a school organised trip though it was a mix of school pupils from various Inverness schools and families - the teachers were a lot less impressed with the club than we were!
About 2 in the morning the chip shop in the courtyard of the knochi apartments was doing a late night special of "squid and chips". Where did a chip shop thousands off feet up a mountain in an area where horse and cart was the main form of transport get squid from? Who knows - but I've never been so ill in my life!!
PS I swear it wasn't the shooters!
So basically for a fairly cheap, decent value holiday in a not overly developed resort it's pretty decent, but just stay away from the Squid !!

Boo they've replaced chair 4 with a high speed quad!! The old chair 4 made the Cliffhanger at Glencoe seem state of the art!
