Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Slow skier looking for buddy to ski with. Date 9 March onwards, anywhere high

Hi!
My husband Martin has finished skiing for the season but I'd love to have one more week this season, anywhere high in the next 2-3 weeks starting 9 March, this year.

I'm a leisurely skier!

May I add that I am a competent skier, honest! Here is what I'm looking at, as I've never been to Andorra before and 58 cm snow is being forecast for next 7 days! plus more in the long range..... Resort at mid level is 2134m. departyure 10th March. Trf time 3 hours. £590 pp for 3 sharing, or £699pp for 2 sharing or just > £1100 for single supplement, including 2-3 days of ski hosting, I think. 6 days in some hotels.

Actually, El Tarter is too small. Here is another in Bad Gastein, no ski hosting

@AiChoo, maybe later than you're thinking of, but have you considered the EoSB?

@longsuffering, El Tartar accesses a larger area than Bag Gastein.

@sugarmoma666, EOSB is too late for me. and El Tarter has 92km of pistes v 200km of pistes in Bad Gastein, if Google is right? But Thank you!

@longsuffering, Google is misleading you in in this case. I've been to both (well the linked resorts) and the size of the linked ski areas is almost exactly the opposite to what you've stated.

El Tartar is part of the Grandvalira, with access to ~200km of skiing:
https://www.skiresort.info/ski-holiday-in/el-tarter-700/ski-resorts/

Bad Gastein is an impressive Austrian spa town with a fascinating history. It has around ~80km of local slopes:

I'd guess the 200km figure you've seen includes the other areas in the Gastein Valley (https://www.skiresort.info/ski-resorts/gastein/). The other areas are accessible by ski bus.

They're both lovely areas but incredibly different.

@sugarmoma666, oh, thank you! It looks very good! And now my "@longsuffering" husband (surely that name tag should be mine ??) is changing his mind and saying the snow looks good and he may come after all, if ski in/ski out, etc/ AiChoo rolling eyes

I like Openskimap for getting an impression of how big a resort really is and it's layout. For e.g. Grandvalira:
https://openskimap.org/?obj=de4f884c40976fe9d18c23d0bab174c1d6b79218#12.5/42.53611/1.66752
and Schlossalm/Angertal/Stubnerkogel, which is the area immediately accessible from Bad Gastein:

You can also see the other Gastein resorts of Sportgastein, Graukogel and Großarltal-Dorfgastein.
A real plus point of Bad Gastein is the thermal spas, particularly the Alpentherme in Bad Hofgastein
