Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Off piste instruction followed by Chamoix Vallee Blanche guided day

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My daughter and I have been skiing for 15 odd years and are OK on the piste. We have very little off piste experience.

We would like to have two full days off piste instruction followed by a days guiding in the Vallee Blanche, preferably with the same instructor/guide.

Has anyone out done something similar in Chamonix and got any recommendations please ?

We aim to go around about the 8th of Feb 2013.

Hi ninanderson, you can try Evolution 2 in Chamonix. Their offer is four days instruction plus the Vallee Blanche if you join a group. Otherwise I'm sure they'll do two days plus Vallee Blanche if you go private. Quite a few snowHeads will recommend their fave Chamonix operation, of which there are many and all pretty much excellent.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

And don't limit yourself to the Vallee Blanche! Part of the joy of having a guide for the day is using their experience to find the best conditions, which might not be local. A little drive to another resort to find some great snow is well worth the effort in my view!

dream guides are good, think it works out at about £60 per person in a group with the guide. the guide brings ropes, harnesses, crampons and bleepers, you just need a rucksack to carry your ski/board.

i'm not sure what they charge for a couple of days, but there pretty competative, i'd give them a go Smile

ninanderson,

Hello there ninanderson.

I'd love to help out, I run an off-piste and backcountry specialist ski school based in Chamonix. Skiing the Valley Blanche is a popular goal for lots
of skiers coming to Chamonix. It's a great focus for your trip.

Drop me a line or PM me if you'd like a chat.

Very Happy

Hi Eddie

No nothing on the site, it was really a message out to any Chamonix locals wanting to get some early turns in. I know I could do with a few days to stretch the legs!

I have a few people interested so If we can fill the car or minibus it's worth heading over for the day!

The idea was really to run a few pre-season training days, having a good blast whilst tuning back into skiing again with some attention to foundation skills.

Cheers
