Boite de Pandore generally has the most reliable conditions and ambience that I've come across.

@NoMapNoCompass, Agree with you, probably my favorite as well and often has better and more snow than many other ski areas especially early and late season.

So many good qualities,
- Always brilliant snow
- Amazing on piste
- Even better off piste, so much interesting terrain
- Feels properly remote, like you are deep in the mountains
- Great skiing from early December - May

@Rusty76, been skiing/ski touring all over Europe/U.S/Canada/Japan for nearly 50 years (aargh!) so a lot of the big name resorts now tend to seem a bit "samey" in my addled memory
However one of my favourites in the past 5 or 6 years was actually Hemsedal in Norway

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Ischgl.
Good sized ski area with range of runs that actually deserve their colours, possibly the best lift system in the world, good food, compact real village, and again possibly the best apres ski in the world.
Main down sides are that it's expensive and doesn't have much side piste.

Megeve. Great views, scenic village, hilarious people watching and the prices keep the great unwashed out.

 You know it makes sense.

Val Cenis because we are there!
In fact, if I were to be restricted to one ski resort then it would be high on the list. It has a little bit of everything and has a very homely feel.

Zermatt
- Huge and varied ski area
- Real village rather than just a ski resort
- Amazing food and drink on the mountain and in the village
- Lots of good friends live there
- Very high so snow nearly always good
- Easy to get to (although quite long, it's just a simple train ride all the way there)
