After Head announced they will be launching a Freeflex Protector next season, I bit the bullet and bought a pair of e-Race pros, a ski I've had my eye on for a while but had shied away from buying because I'll now only ski on Protector bindings. I picked them up yesterday. They are shockingly beautiful in the flesh. Seriously. There are so many lovely details in the finish which are so well executed that they are more like a piece of art than a ski. And the construction is flawless! I've heard the term 'tools not jewels' used to encourage people to use their skis and get them banged up, but these are 'jewels not tools'! I'm tempted to hang them in my lounge. Putting scratches on them would be sacrilege!
Has anyone ever clapped eyes on skis that made them feel like that, and what were they?

The Red Bull Van Deer skis are quite eye-catching in an understated kind of way. The price isn't so understated though

The multi coloured bases of the original K2 Extremes back in the early 90s were cool.

- K2 Coomba (or K2 four for those of certain generation)
- Movement Thunder
- Most Blizzard skis
However I am going to have to nominate Lonely Mountain Skis from Dunkeld.
In terms of pure aesthetics they are incredible.
Actually ski very well too...

@king key, I've got the 2024 ARV 106 and can't say I'm a fan, but it is funky. Previously had the 2017 version which I preferred the look of.

The best top sheet art is the Volkl Wizard Explosives, this is not even up for debate
The natural wood top sheets like Lonely Mountain (and Igneous) sure are pretty though

I have a soft spot for Scott "The Ski"....ie The one based on the original design - especially in Red or Blue.

No mainstream skis are that beautiful . Ski Logik used to be the prettiest with the inlaid wood, Icelantic the trippiest.
Anything race derived is by definition not pretty.
Guess my Line Influence with a snake wrapped round a femur would make a cool tattoo.
