I have a 0600 flight out of Newcastle, and apparently I can check my luggage in the evening before (Im stopping near the airport), The question is, do I have to check in all my luggage or can I keep one "hold" bag for the hotel stopover

I would ask Tui directly but it might depend on how many people and how many bags …
If one person , I would think no.
If multiple people - just check in and drop off all but one persons bags.
Leave one check in open and do that in the morning ? Just because you booked as a group - no obligation to check in at the same time ?
(I say “check in” when really it’s “bag drop” as I imagine everyone checks in online these days).
Sort of misses the point though.
Can’t you put a change of undies , toothbrush and deodorant in your hand baggage ?
Extra 30 mins in bed.
Then waltz straight to security first thing.

Thanks for the reply.
Its two of us, both with ski bags and hold luggage. Unfortunately my wife cant carry her skis and may not be able to pull her hold luggage, despite it being a wheeled bag. so wanted to drop off three bags the evening before. While it seems to be convenient, Im a bit worried about my bags not getting on the flight if I drop them off the evening before.
TUI Chat bot isnt very helpful

We’ve done twilight check-in a few times (with tui and also jet2) at Manchester and had same worries but it all seems to work and so much easier getting rid of the luggage and especially ski bags the night before.
At Manchester you have to weigh and tag ski bags at same place as normal luggage but then you have to take the ski bags to an oversized bag check which is often a big slow queue.
Unless you have both ski bags against one name I think you might have a problem… otherwise you will be doing a partial check in on one of the tickets (computer probably says no).
Tui usually offer a 10 kg hand luggage allowance so better to use that to pack what you need for the overnight stay.
You could also try direct messaging Crystal or Tui on twitter? That seems to be handled by a human…

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We've done twilight check in a few times, and our luggage has always arrived safely. I don't see the point keeping one bag back - then you have to queue in the morning anyway, so you may as well not bother doing twilight.
Regardless of whether we check in the night before or not, I always have my salopettes, a thermal and mid layer, gloves, socks and goggles (and contact lenses!) in my hand luggage (in a vacuum bag). I can easily hire boots and a helmet in resort, but I'm not faffing around buying new ski wear if the bag doesn't arrive.

Did twilight drop off at Glasgow this year, way easier than messing about in the morning.
Bags managed to get to our destination.
I'd say pack your overnight essentials in your cabin/carry on bag.

+2 for Mrs.T42 & me!
...albeit by learning about other's loss of hold luggage from these forums & how it regularly affects ~1% of Bash attendees - credit to @mikeycharlton for his work reuniting lost luggage with their people!
Long story short - overnight & personal kit in carey-on; checked-in luggage labelled & marked, tagged & tracked; and minimise the number of hops (& especially avoid Lufthansa via Schipol)

Indeed, but even more important via Frankfurt.

There are companies that will collect your baggage from your home and check it in for you. They have to see the boarding pass and passport when they pick it up. We’re doing this for an easyJet+Tui holiday out of Gatwick in a few weeks. Cost for us was £46 for three hold cases for three people, but it will vary by airport and distance.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

At Manchester, can you self check in ski bag or do you still have to go to the desk, TUI website chat don't know ..as it seems pointless doing online check in if you still have to go to the desk
