I had roller blade lessons back in the day in London and the first thing the instructor did was eyeball the skiers and tell us that we were doing everything wrong trying to skte with ski technique ...
Now, blades aren't skis, but ...

@Steilhang, there's still a “Figln season” on Nordkette, which started at the weekend: https://nordkette.com/angebote/winter/figln/ , which is probably a good thing as Nordkette hasn't seen many open days this season 
I haven't really seen them in use much anywhere else though.

I have a pair of Big Feet in the loft if you are still interested. They are the black ones with a pink footprint on them.
