 Poster: A snowHead

Just a quick look at the travel. By air should be easy - just the chance of a shower in the UK almost anywhere. Grand day on the Continent which means the only delays on the roads will be caused by the volume of traffic. With 32k vehicles heading up expect to lose an hour or so between 1000 and 2000hrs, maybe longer early - mid afternoon. And with 32k heading out expect queues at Aime from first light till mid afternoon- again another 60-90 minutes on normal journey times.

So glad that things worked out so well for you @taemo. I do agree that this thread especially, has a great positive vibe. Your post is also a good prod for me to do a short summary on half-term parking.
In essence, that summary is that the new Tufs carpark is meeting or exceeding expectations on a number of fronts: @taemo was able to rock up on a Saturday afternoon at the start of one of the busiest weeks and get parked indoors (in Golf) without a booking; long stay folk who want to park in VC now can, freeing up space for holidaymakers in the Lac carparks; week commencing 14th Feb, there was still some parking en voirie (on the street but still needing to pay) on Montee du Golf, but none on Avenue du Lac, which there has been in past seasons; w/c 21st Feb, no on-street parking in evidence at all.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Routes from Tignes to Val starting from Paquis.
I'm just looking at ways over to Val and wondering what everyone's opinions were of the different ways over. Just fun really, there is no particular objective other than enjoying different variations of the resort and avoiding skiing the same runs over and over. But it would be good to have a quick/fun way over to then be able to explore the slopes in the Solaise and Fornet sectors rather than faffing about in Tignes on some days. Hopefully there at a quiet time so queuing for lifts shouldn't be too much of a worry.
Paquis->Combe Folle->Funicular seems to be the route with the least lifts, but maybe the wait for the funicular is a PITA, not sure how interesting the skiing is.
Paquis->back down to Le Lac->Toviere->Tommeuses->Marmotte or swap out Toviere for Tuffs looks to be the obvious way but with the least skiing maybe
Paquis->Fresse->Borsat->ski down Epaule/Santons might be a fun variation, or maybe the flat bottom of Santons is just not worth the hassle.
What are your favourites?

I’m back! Bit too tired to do a full forecast and I need a beer. But tomorrow looks OK with a milky sky - seems very hazy and probably some Saharan dust in the air.
So a good day for driving and flying over here with no weather issues at the airports. With 30k vehicles coming up and the same going down there will be a few queues peak times but not too bad. You may be asked to slow down by 20kph to reduce the pollution down the valleys but most people seem to ignore it!
Flying from the UK, it’s going to be a bit murky down south - the only thing to highlight is a one in 3 chance of fog at Gatwick, Luton and Stansted - so it will probably form at one of them and slow things up a bit.
