@Mullins regards LP question. Yes Tignes seem to say min 2 adults and 2 kids for the Family pass discount. Seems a bit out of order for a single parent. I did notice that an 18 year old can still have a child price pass- i thought it ended when they turn 18
Family Ski Pass
The Family Offer from the STGM is a 300€ discount off the total price for at least 4 full price ski passes of 6 days or more are bought.
For any simultaneus purchase of 4 or more ski passes at the public rate, of the same duration (from 6 to 13 days) and with the same validity, including at least 2 adults (19-64 years old) and 2 children (8-18 years old), a promotion of €300 will be granted on the total amount.

Hello Everyone. Another season approaching. For those of you lucky to live out in Tignes for the season or have a place out there you visit during the season can you give us all any news for the 2025/26 season please. Any new lifts, bars, restuarants ? I only managed a week last year and it was that week in April when it dumped so much in 24 hrs the resort closed. Never seen that happen in 33 years of skiing what we used to call Espace Killy

@mullins, The bar/restaurant is in one of the Lavachet buildings that are ear-marked for redevelopment. The building work should commence next Summer.
We apres in there most evenings, and the restaurant is very good too. Probably need to book early.

@Charlie333, it's a nice bar, and does great food. Unsurprisingly with it's name, pork often features quite heavily on the menu.

@Charlie333, It's opposite the Brassero and very close to the first bus stop in Lavachet. Happy hour's usually 5 > 7pm. And it's run by a lovely family.
It's quite harmful to my wallet as we rent an apartment just around the corner.

i think mosts bars in Tignes can be harmful to your wallett- but many are well worth it. We used to head down to Lavachet 30 years ago when there was a bar called Harrys (i think it was called that) and it had a balcony and many 20 yr olds did a dive off that . Then it turned into a Hot Rocks Rest which was rubbish. What are your other go to bars in Tignes youd recommend ? Many thanks

The Marmot Arms (including burgers). Jam Bar.
The G spot in Palafour building for cheap takeaway Thai food.
And Aspen in Val Claret close to the bus station for cheap burgers at the end of the day.
La Taverne des Neiges nearby for beers

We enjoyed The Moose, Brasero (for food) and Loop Bar and Restaurant (live music and food, and sun spot for a terrace on blue bird days).
I was with kids so they had to be somewhat kid friendly.

@Charlie333, What was Harry's Bar is now the QDC. We don't find much need to stray away from Lavachet in the evenings. There are enough options for food & drink, from reasonable to pricey. Nicks pizzas are excellent, to take out, or eat in. At the opposite end of the scale you places like Mendikoa, and "The Farm". The others mentioned above are all good but some get rammed at Apres, more so if there's live music on.

@rickboden, Pizza Nick (small dining area/mainly take-away) or SOS Pizza. (Collection or delivery)
Brassero. A short'ish walk or jump the bus round to Lavachet. Not a huge choice of pizzas, but you can order them to take out if you wish.
L'Escale Blanche which is just down the road from the Taos can be good, or bang average. Flip a coin.

Marmott Arms & Loop Bar are great. However i found a little place called La Pallete Des 2 Boules in Le Lac just down the road from Loop Bar that does great local beer and less of the euro fizz. Small, cozy, great atmosphere. Nice beer in bottles and on tap.

Right then, parking info is now posted up on page 1. It's largely a re-hash of last season's with edits where I know things have changed already. Once installed in Tignes I will get some more updates done, expect late November.

Following @bobski62’s posting on car parking, just a word of caution about parking in the Golf (or indeed any of the other covered car parks). Last season, as for a number of seasons, we parked in the Golf car park. One day I went to check on the car only to find much of is covered in residue that had leaked out of the ceiling (following heavy snowfall and thaw). Indigo were initially helpful in trying to sought things out but then went silent. I subsequently had to put it in the hands of my own insurance company, LV, who have been very helpful. The damage ultimately amounted to thousands of pounds and at one time writing off the 2 year old car was being considered. LV have themselves been pursuing Indigo, so far to no avail. Originally Indigo asked us to confirm which space was the problem (no. 10) so they could block it off. They didn’t and another car was damaged although not as extensively.
I have little choice but to use the car park again this season. I will be checking the ceilings very carefully. So I would advise anyone else using the car park to be similarly vigilant.

Right, I now have a spare 5 minutes so here's what I have picked up for this season:
Firstly, the new lift In Tignes will be the 6 seater Aiguille Percèe. With 2 fast chairs up to the eye of the needle it's going to get busy up there, but it means a quicker way back to Brev for advanced skiers. Time will tell but I think it a bit of over provision. Its a shame it is going from the same base station, there was a suggestion to start it down by the Grand Huit. So the GH will still be a bottleneck at busy times. I don't think there is anything new next door, but there should be a spangly new facility at the top of the Vallon Gondola - hopefully some loos without doing the black run stairs of the original! From an amendment to the Press Pack - I think the 2 new magic carpets for the Lavachet Beginners slope have been delayed.
Bob has already mentioned the new car park in Val Claret - hopefully a little less parking on the streets at peak periods now.
A new adventure park has appeared for kids in VC this summer - it is open for the winter for those with efficient thermals.
As for restos and bars there is a lot of change - Team Kodo have taken on the old Rendevous on the Palafour Gallery (Mad Mao has retired so no more pizzas with random escargots). I am reliably informed it will be like Kodo in Lavachet - so Asian Fusion in style - @drporat, they do GF options. All at a reasonable Price. I'm not sure what the Moose will be this year - think there was a bit of a fall out. On the Rosset Promenade there is a new Bouvier Place in the old Municipal Garages - so just left of the Bakery. No doubt that will be to the higher end clientele. The Paillotte was up for sale in Lavachet - so not sure whats happening there.
And as George says the QDC will be back - it seems to have more reprieves than Status Quo have had last tours! But that is a good thing.
A few dates:
31 Dec 25 - Giant Karaoke for New Year.
24 January - Relay races on the frozen lake.
2-6 Feb - Final Prep for the Para Winter Olympics with downhill and super G (Tignes will host the Para Alpine World Ski Champs in 2027).
15-20 March - Mountain Shaker - big air, slopestyle etc.
21-28 Mar - European Snow Pride
24 April - 3 May - Festival: Tignes Unlimited

Thanks @Ski lots, I've added a note. I have to say that the standards of maintenance in that car park are not great (nor in Lac 1). I've also started to mention where EV charging points are located; once I'm there and caught sight of them I might consolidate this info under a single heading.
Super to see all the dates listed and the rest of the update @chocksaway, thank you! Last winter, around mid-December there was a 'bring and buy' / 'bourse aux skis' in Lo Terrachu. If you - or anyone else - chances upon a date for it this season (assuming it runs again) please do let us know.
I had hoped to offload some gear at the bourse either in Bourg or in Seez but the dates have been brought forward by a week so I can't get to them in time.

You're not wrong. I hope they've done some piste sculpting, because even with just the Marais opening last season the uphill bit of the blue on the Brev side was une merde show, with punters side stepping up the incline. The red on t'other side also gets skied out and slick/stoney rather quickly. Agree they've missed a trick with not addressing the GH bottleneck.
Re Moose, it's been downhill since Charlie jumped ship and took over the Marmott. Also there are also new owners of the pizza joint in Lav opposite QDC, promising good things.

@chocksaway, I’m with another bank, not Lloyds. Each time this morning I got a single step further - specifying car park then identifying a vehicle, then getting through to payment page - it was just clunky, ridden with error 500s and thennit went smoothly as soon as I voiced frustration to my wife. Possibly her influence when it went right or more probably sheer volume of traffic.
|

|
|
|
|

I think the 500 error is just the volume of people applying overwhelming Indigo's servers. Same problem over at the neighbours' according to Steve Angus on the 'view from' thread. I waited till 10:30 this morning and it all worked fine first time.

I'm also getting the 500 error trying to book parking. I can only get as far as selecting my dates/car park and then trying to log in.
