That’s all good with me I’m happy to read about peoples travel plans, where the best restaurants are and general chit chat on the resort. I am though really interested in the snow conditions changeable as they are, which is why I come on to a weather and snow conditions thread. So yes some people come on the thread to talk about anything but title subject and some however…..

TBH I put this thread under snow conditions because I couldn’t find anywhere else to answer general questions about a resort.
Trip reports doesn’t work because that’s about events that have happened, not what is current or in the future. The same could be said about reviews. I could say resort x had excellent snow shoeing when I was there but doesn’t answer the question of “when is the last navette?”
When I’m in the resort I try to post what I think have been good runs and possibly what have not been so good but I’m aware that what I think is good may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I leave the actual snow conditions and depths to the resort website rather than just repeating it here.
Very stable, little wind, cloudy with sunny spells, warmish - for the next few days.

@joshua, When are you there? Sorry, I've forgotten! We're staying at Rob's place in just over 2 weeks (for a week) so will stick some comments on about snow conditions when I take a break from the Aperol!
If I'm not in resort, then snow conditions are at best interesting, but of no practical use.
If I am in resort, then not interesting and have no information content beyond that I already know.
If I'm choosing a resort for future visits, real time info is not of use - far better to use historic and trend info, available at specialist sites.
If I am choosing a resort for next week, or a side-bar to an already planned trip to a nearby resort - then OK, yes, it may have value. Limited use case I suggest.
As stated further up the thread - the snow is what the snow is, whenever you arrive. Knowing in advance may satisfy curiosity, but will not change the conditions. They do that on their own quickly enough.

Very pleasant conditions, especially if you have sharp edges! Warmer than average for the beginning of March and relentlessly sunny, although not quite “April hot”. Loads of snow, having to climb up on to the snow when I’d normally step down really shows how much fresh came down last month. Piste conditions are getting soft in the afternoons, and correspondingly firm first thing. Off-piste tracked out and firm as far as the eye can see. The forecast is for more of the same, although Thursday & Friday might see sand from the south turns things orange.

It's old and slow and knacks your legs as you sit down, but on a peaceful sunny day, the slow ride up over the pistes is a great time out.
Is this where the golf course is in the summer?

Anyone know what time the last funi up to 1600 is on a Saturday and if theres a connecting bus to 1800 at that time please?

@wills_h, last funi on Saturdays (and Fridays) departs Bourg at 11pm. Sunday to Thursday the last service is at 9pm, but on Fridays and Saturdays it runs every 30 minutes, on the hour and half hour from 9pm to 11pm.
The last 1600-1800 shuttle bus departs at 11.25pm, timed to coincide with the last funi service.

Have you eaten at the Cherry Garden? I walked past it on Monday (on my way from Darty to the Funi after buying a washing machine - the things you do on a ski holiday!) and wondered what it was like.

Good to know, might give it a try one day. I think Phil I and were the very first paying customers who rode the new TransArc gondola when it opened last winter.

Charmettoger lift brings back memories - when kids were little we used to ski to that from top of Vallandry, then stop at the little hut just off the top for hot choc and biscuit (sadly now closed). Then back to Vallandry, that was a full afternoon when they were little.
Could now do it in about 10-mins I think and it'd be me who needs the break

Les Arcs showing that drones can be put to a good use. During the holiday weeks Arc 1800 has a nighttime show on the snow front, including a traditional torchlit descent by the ESF and a rather more modern drone show which after a slightly hesitant start a couple of years ago is now very impressive, to me at least.

We are heading out to Arc 1800 in 3 weeks on 29th March. Do you think we will need the lift pass that has the express lane option on lifts?
We were there new year 24/25 and there were loooooonnnng queues. We didn’t have the express lane option then but would if going at new year again.

12 of us going that week to 1800. You should be fine it’s one of the quieter weeks and nothing like NY or half term

@breeze11, I don’t think you’d need one. You may even find that some have fell in to disrepair. The school holidays do not start until April 4th.
I’m not surprised the queues were long over new year week. It’s the busiest week of the season.

@breeze11, we've been in Les Arcs that week for the past 3 years and going again this year. Never queued more than a couple of minutes and tbh can't even remember noticing anyone skipping ahead in an express queue
