 Poster: A snowHead

Hey
Im thinking going mid April ie 12-18 April to Austria, mostly because I have Tyrol Snow card and I can use ski lifts.
But Im thinking spending most of the days for ski touring with lightweight dedicated ski touring equipment.
Question is what would be the best place to stay for 1 week to a have a base for ski tour adventures?
I did Wildspitze couple of years back from Pitztal glacier resort. If fine to do it again. I also been to Vent from Solden where i could see couple of routes.
I guess options are around Stubai, Solden, Vent, Pitztal, Ischgl. I wont have a car, to i would prefer to stay in one place and have different routes and do short travel by local public transport.
thanks in advance

We did a tour where I seem to recall Vent was one place we ended up in.
We definitely stayed two nights in the Martin Busch hutte, which was originally the Herman Goering Hutte!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for the link, I think routes starting from Pitztal are looking most epic, I can definitely see spending 3-4 days on skitour if weather allows. Thanks

Access Heidelberger Hutte via Ischgl. From there you can tour over the ridge to the Jamtalhutte. You can also access the Jamtalhutte from Galtur. Nice summits above that hut, Hintere Jamspitz & Vordere Jamsptiz, and the Dreilanderspitz. Ski down to the Wiesbadenerhutte. From there you can do the Piz Buin. Ski out the valley to the north and end up in Galtur. Galtur and Ischgl for lift served skiing. Bus service in the main valley to Ischgl & Galtur
From Vent you can tour to the Similaun Hutte. From there the Similaun is a nice summit. You can head to the Finialsptize and then on to the Schone Aussicht Hut in Val Senales ski area. There are some nice summits you can do from there and then head back down the valley towards Vent. You're close to Solden on Obergurgl for lift served skiing. Bus service to Vent. Nice huts and mostly ski summits. Some scrambling with crampons on summits like the Piz Buin (rope too) and the Finialspitze.
Also toured out of this place (https://www.praxmar.at/) once. Very nice place to stay with many good tours. Also bus accessible. Pretty close to Innsbruck. Not far to Kuthai for lifts. I'm assuming you have enough touring experience to do this on your own and someone to go with you. Quite a bit of glacier travel so be aware and be equipped. Better idea is to get a guide who can get you to the good stuff and get you back in one piece.
