Really hope the snow holds up - we were only able to book the second week of the Easter holidays for a reasonable price.
It's such a long way away at the moment!!

Worse than January! To be fair though the 3V is better than most resorts at coping with high visitor numbers. There are fewer bottlenecks due to how good the lift infrastructure is. Even when it's busy you tend not to get ridiculous queues.

@Jack_nice, a lot of depends on our expectations and how you handle busyness.
Some people shake it off, for others it sends them round the bend.

Latania.co.uk have published their really good update for the season ahead detailing all changes:
Looking forward to not freezing my buns off on the Cote Brune chair this year although it feels like the end of an era!!

That is always such a great update. I look forward to reading it every year.

I'm looking forward to trying out the new Chenus and Cote Brune lifts in January
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Likewise but still annoyed that they removed Coqs. At least it looks like you won't need to go up the ramps in the Croisette building to get to the new Chenus.
Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

I am predicting a few more collisions in that area next winter though, with folks coming from bellcote direction heading for Chenus and folks coming from Loze direction heading for Verdons etc...

Love these guys. Also see that Campagnol off Mt Vallon is now classified as a black. Has it been physically re-graded or do they just want Mt Vallon to look more imposing on the map?

Yes, I saw that from a link to this on Facebook and commented that I find Combe more challenging than Campagnol.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If they've gotten rid of the bypass "easy way" that avoids the first steep bit at the top, that might affect the calculation (although in truth, that bypass is narrow and normally congested and cut up, and so often more difficult than a lil' bit of steep).
My 6 days for price of 5 ski pass just arrived in the mail. Can't wait to use it.
I also just checked the weather and it looks like it there will be a bit of snow in the next few days
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I agree. If the bypass is closed that first section (which rarely has decent snow) can be ferocious.
I just got a option to change my booking to the week before HT instead of the first week of HT is it worth rebooking?. (Dw have available accomadtion for both dates)
Also does anyone know how big the difference between those 2 weeks is?

Probably depends on whether its HT in France or not? Check out the european school holidays here:-
There's another graph floating around which shows actual visitors to ski resorts by week. Maybe ask your accomodation providers? Personally, if I could avoid a busy school holiday week I defeintely would.

And whether your HT week is the same as most others in UK.

Ah, missed this news. Has anyone read any 3V official information as to why it was regraded? It’s a bit gutting for me tbf as I was planning to ride that piste for the first time this season when we go in December. Watching videos of Camagnol using the cut looked doable for my boarding level but an icy steep isn’t fun or easy on a snowboard and that first part is both. If the cut remains I’ll probably try it and make it my first black (albeit with a shortcut cheat).
From what I’ve seen Combe du Vallon has a longer steep section right at the start that gets pretty icy. Seems odd to have regraded Campagnol out of the two.

Photo take a couple of mins ago from our balcony webcam at 1450m. Looks
like VT opening weekend is going to be great (Not in residence at the moment, a couple more weeks before we hit the main 3 V opening weekend, which looks like it could be a good one!)

My weather app is calling for 80 cms in the next two days for Meribel. Looking forward to the pictures!

They've just announced (via the Three Valleys app) that St Martin is also opening this weekend as well as Les Menuires which I find a bit confusing considering the forecast warmer weather next week.
TBF St Martin looks ready on the webcams for now

We will be there! Arrive tomorrow. We'll head up to VT on Friday-when the weather looks reasonable- and then probably start from St M Saturday and Sunday. The forecast looks a bit mixed and windy up high for the weekend, but with the option of St M open, fingers are crossed that some good skiing can be done. Wind permitting dipping over and beyond to Meribel too could be on the cards.
