Hello Snowhead Families
As you may have heard, Schools in many UK regions break up early for Easter Hols in 2026 i.e. 28th March - 12th April, which is a week earlier than France and presents a rare opportunity to take the family spring skiing a little earlier, with quieter slopes, cheaper accom (maybe) and better snow (maybe) - As such it seems to be the obvious week for UK families looking to go skiing at Easter.
So might anyone be interested in an Unofficial Spring Family Bash for the week 28 March - 4 April 2026?
I'm not wedded to it, but would propose we do it in Val Thorens where the official SFB's have been held - that way, if there is sufficient interest, @admin can ride in like a white knight and upgrade this from bootleg Bash to official.
My two kids will be 8 and 10. They have each been skiing a few times and would love to join up with an extended ski gang.
Please leave a reply if you might be interested in co-ordinating a trip on those dates.

I'd be interested. Jnr2 will be wanting to film for his GCSE PE snowboarding module. Jnr1 will be buried in revision for his GCSE finals so unlikely.

@Oingles, French are less likely to ski at Easter than in February, so it isn't quite so much of an issue as you would think, although it is the local schools area.

At this point, my family are looking doubtful for next year, TBH, whatever the date. I'm Granddad. I'm very happy to have discovered Snowheads, because I can still go skiing and have some company.

Hi me 50 and my son 13 would love to come. The dates are perfect. We both are keen on skiing especially my son. Both of us can ski blacks and reds but also enjoy blues

Will watch with interest as we are already booked to be in Meribel from 28 March to 11 April. Could ski over and say hello. Son and family work there instructing in winter and granddaughter is in nursery so its just Mrmogulski and I who can ski with snowheads. We know the area well as we have season passes each year.

As we have 2 dogs, I have already booked 28/03-11/04 in VT however will follow this thread as I am happy to meet up, my daughter will be 17 so first year of A-levels/IBac.

I don’t have kids but I’m a nursery teacher and PiPAU (the only bash I can usually get on) is so out of sync now I’m a bit scared I’ll never see snow again! I’d defo be up for it if someone is willing to share with a singleton/a good price. I’m happy with either week

I have got a provisional booking in VT for the week of the 28th for the extended family. A full range of kids at 14, 11, 8, and 4, and would love to meet up with some snowheads out in resort if there are people there at the same time. We haven't got flights yet so might be able to shift to the following week if that's what everyone does.

Possibly... Wiltshire holidays start that week of 28th March to 4th April. @UrsulaJ should be revising for A levels but may be persuaded to join me for some VT time

What "Cheap Private Chalet's" did you look at, whenever I search chalets it offers me the Chalet Bonhomme for the bargain price of £31,000.

Have you had a look at SunWeb? They provided us a large flat in Les Balcons last Easter which worked out well for 11 of us, spread over 4 families.

I have booked apartments at the same time as a couple of bashes in Val Thorens, found that Val Thorens Immobilier had ones at a bit lower price point than the other local agencies.

Yes, I went with them last year at the Bel Horizon and was going to go back but it's already sold out.
I also spotted the Balcons on Sunweb and I wished i'd booked it as it's gone now. Was slightly put off it being at the back of town, loved being right on the main piste last year.
Everything seems about £100 - £200 more expensive than last year.

I'm another that would be interested in this. It'd just be me and my son, 10yrs. He's been twice before although not since Jan '22, and would do lessons of some form.
I've been away from Snowheads (and skiing) for a while, looking forwards to getting back to it and I'm keen to get him back on skis but def want some other kids there for him

We are about to book in Val Thorens for the week of the 4th. Hoping for another family bash at some point as my daughter keeps asking to go back to one!

My wife got the half term week off so we booked us that week in Lech. Still, slight possibility for an Easter trip

I’m still keen, ive had a look on air b&b and there are a few apartments available on there. We’ll drive down so self-catering not a problem.
Would be happy to share, also flexible on week so could do w/c 4th as well
