Hi, Yes to ski school. This will be their first ski trip.
Ideally somewhere family friendly but with high altitude (given its relatively late season) and not heinously expensive! My wife and I are experienced skiers. Altesch seems to tick most boxes?
Late March is not really late season, most places, most years, will still have plenty of snow then. Not sure why you'd be thinking of Aletsch Arena, at nearly four hours away, there's plenty a lot closer.
You could try Engleberg, but maybe not so good for first-time kids - the main beginners area of Klostermatte, at village level, 1000m, stays good until the sun gets it, which it will have by then, and the other area at Gerschnialp is more limited and separate from the main ski areas, so awkward to meet up. (Lived there for ten years, taught there for five).
Plenty of other small areas, but if you want large and high you could do worse than Flims/Laax, two and a bit hours by train, plenty f everything for everybody. Not taught there but ISTR beginners' areas were easily accessible, led a number of ski club trips and always enjoyed it a lot.
Then you can post your own questions or snow reports...

Arosa? I don’t know what heinously expensive means though — it’s Switzerland after all, although it’s not Gstaad or St Moritz at least…
After all it is free

Does it have to be CH? With kids that age i’d be inclined to go to a Kinder Hotel in Serfaus Fiss Ladis.

Second this. Should be just under 3h transfer by car from Zurich airport. A wide range of Kinderhotels there across the budget spectrum.
My advice there would be to stay in Serfaus, as their kids ski school is at the top of the Komperdellbahn at 2000m. And there is a ski depot up there, so you don't have to lug all the gear around with you to and from the hotel. Also great fun for the kids to take the gondola up rather than being dropped off at the bottom of the hill.
Overall a great resort with 50% of slopes above 2000m and very family focused.
