Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We've not used a taxi for that route. Just wondering... are you too late to use the scheduled bus service? Puzzled

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I guess we wanted to make the journey up as easy and quick as possible, especially with a daughter who gets travel sick.

Do you have to pre-book the bus?

Yes. Altibus website. That costs approx €12 pp one way, versus at least €100 for a taxi (for 2 - and they seem to charge per person for taxis over there...) In January 5 of us were charged €60 for a 10 minute taxi ride from les Menuires to Val Thorens, following a ski tour. The ride up from Moutiers to VT takes at least 40 minutes, so that will give you an indication of what the taxi fare could be... Shocked

For a travel sick daughter the bus could be a smoother ride than an F1-like taxi ride, where time is money wink .

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Valtho cabs
Have a look at their website
Nice large transit type taxi for four cost euro 400 for 4 from Valtho to gva
Smooth no f1 type ride
Might be better option for travel sick child (driver happy to stop en route for comfort break much less stress than on full bus of passive aggressive skiers!)
They must have lots of journeys thru moutier to fit you on

We used Ben's Bus to and from Tignes for our first ever coach transfers this winter. We'd previously always hired a car.

Really enjoyed it as a relaxing change from driving. I have absolutely no idea what passive aggressive coach passengers could possibly be. Please enlighten us @snowornever Puzzled

@mountainaddict
Just my experience on a bus (Bensbus as it happens)
Lots of suppressed anger on board jostling for position and who got on first and got the best( Eh oh! ) seats. A most unpleasant experience not to be repeated
There may be a broader definition if you Google the quote if that helps snowHead

I've never heard anything like it! We've done at least a dozen or 15 Bens/Alpy/Altibus transfers and have had nothing but pleasant journeys Very Happy Toofy Grin .

Thanks all, we went with Alpes Savouie in the end and had a positive experience. Although daughter ended up vomiting on the Eurostar instead!

Has she tried the pressure point wrist bands? Some people find they work; put on pre-travel.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

As opposed to post-travel, post-vomit? Puzzled
