Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

TR: the not (yet?) La Grave trip

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A group of us regularly go to La Grave in early March - except last year when the snow wasn’t good so we did a traverse to Chamonix (there was a TR here)… and this year when the snow again isn’t great so we’re staying first in Briançon, then in a gite in the Queyras, and as the storm rolls in we may end up returning to La Grave.

So here are some pics, day by day:…

(Oops I forgot to renew my subscription so I’ll have to do that or in the meantime find another way of posting photos…I’ll figure it out asap)

Right, here we go, hope this will work:

Day one: Montgenevre, combination of lift- served and some touring.

Heading to La Plane:

… which turned out to hold some powder - tracked out at the top, fresh in the trees but I didn’t take photos there:

Then we went to Couloir des Tourelles on Mount Janus. There was a misunderstanding with two of the group going down the wrong route and having to skin back up, but the main route was almost untracked:

Day two: Puy St Vincent.

We went up to the top, then hiked up for a short while, then hiked down a ridge, the traversed, skied a bit down and toured up the rest of the total 900m vertical, coming back down the Couloir Nord-Est des Queyrettes and the Vallons de Narreyroux:

Somewhere in there, I took a few photos with the long lens I’d been carrying up the hill:

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

yes I am! we had poor connection for a couple days, and then I ran out of time to do updates. I'll try to come back with more pics and descriptions. I do have some cracking ones from one of the group members using my camera!

(thought I had injured myself on the last day, turns out it's minor).
