Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Saisies ski hire

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We've booked an 'experimental' week in Les Saisies at the end of January, prompted by new grandparent status, and the recommendations of several Snowheads (you know who you are!). Does anyone have any recommendation for ski hire shops - we're staying at Residence Village. The Tourist Office do a deal, but only for complete 'packs' - we just need skis and poles, so will probably use the usual sites (Snowrental, Alpinresorts etc).

I'm no expert on ski hire in Saisies - we used a local one in Bisanne 1500. I don't recognise "Residence Village" though there are some new places since I left. Where is it?

It's quite central, below Carrefour Montagne (was '8 à Huit'). Looks fairly unprepossessing from the back, but has good views south on the other side.

Piccard sports is a nice shop from what I remember (we went to Les Saisies last season) and not too far from where you are staying. Although I haven't hired skis there as we have our own.

@snowymum, thanks. They appear on Snowrental, we'll give them a try.

Ducrey sport looks quite close, too - I'm sure they'd be fine. They have several shops around. Hope you have a great holiday - do report back!

Thanks - looking forward to skiing in France again, and exploring the area, after several years in Zermatt. We've ski-ed in Les Contamines and Grand Massif before, and spent several summer holidays in the area. In 2024 we will be a mixed party - son(v. good), daughter-in-law(nervous), 2yr old grandson, reasonable intermediate (me), and OH who was a good skier, but now has knackered knees from too much tennis. We'll be looking for somewhere to satisfy everyone!
