Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arabba to Zermatt

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Having now booked the Birthday Bash I need to travel to Zermatt by public transport for the next week. My current route is Arabba transfer service to Venice Marco Polo airport, water taxi to Venice railway station, train to Milan change to the train for Brig, then Zermatt.

Does anyone have any experience of this route or could offer advice or alternatives?

If you can get a cheap transfer I'd also look at getting the train from Bolzano

From Venice Marco Polo airport you can take the ATVO bus to Mestre on the mainland, there's no need to go all the way to Venice. The trains from Venice Santa Lucia will almost certainly also stop at Mestre station. The ATVO bus drops you off about 100metres from Mestre station. https://www.atvo.it/en-venice-airport.html

@Seahoob,

Bus from VCE then over the bridge to the train station. Or bus to Mestre train station the train from there.

The Rome2rio app is great for route planning. I’ve even used it in China and it tells you the platform that you need.

Google maps has you going via Brixen to Verona on local busses where you pick up the train rather than going to Venice Airport. It takes 11:45 hours and involves3 busses and 2 trains , however. There are several options a day.

I've found Google maps pretty good for route finding on public transport, but it doesn't seem to have the live information such as where the bus you are waiting for is of other apps and, of course, it is not available in China. Rome2rio appears more global than moovit.

@Alastair Pink, @GlasgowCyclops, Bus to Mestre station looks the best option, thanks.

@johnE, I started with Google maps, but it does lack the fine detail of other apps.
