Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What are these Burton step on bindings?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just bought some Burton step on boots and bindings and wonder how old they are. Current models have cleats on both front edges plus the clip at the heel. These boots have metal indents on the instep and the outside edge and as you step onto the binding lugs pivot and engage these cleats. I'm trying to find out what they're called and how old they're likely to be

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Do you like the quality of these boots? Wanted to get Burton ones too, but my friends told me they lost their quality, so I have doubts.

@Josh78richards, Burton gear generally has a pretty good reputation. I've been using Burton boots and bindings (traditional) for a while and have had no quality issues. @Mr.Egg seems to be very happy with his Step Ins, as have pretty much everyone I've spoken to who have used them so far.

Key point for Burton is their Customer Services which do seem to be excellent when issues do come up - I needed to get a new highback for my Missions after one had an argument with a low chairlift. Would have been perfectly happy to pay for one - but they sent me two free of charge and apologised they they'd not been able to colour-match them properly to the baseplates.

Had a strap replacement sent by Burton for my Cartels and they also apologised for not colour matching. Burton are an excellent company never had issues with their gear/ support.

wonder how old they are ?

Burtons SI or stepins were sold in 99 probably the 98/99 season they also had a massive recall that season .

The SI boots were entry freestyle then in later years you had a choice of boot models probably Freestyle and Rulars .

Tirol is correct - these are likely an older Burton model - like this?

They were continued after 2000 and then redesigned recently.
