Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Saas Grund

Poster: A snowHead
I am looking at an option for Saas Grund next year. I notice that a few of you have been to Saas Fee, but what about its near neighbour?
My two main question's are:
What are the links like to Saas Fee, would they involve a lot of walking/carrying (thinking of the children) and how long would they take?
What is the range of skiing like in both Saas Fee and Saas Grund?

Thanks for any help.

We stayed in Saas Fee over New Year, our knowledge of Saas Grund is small.

Saas Fee is in a hanging valley with Saas Grund in the floor of the parent valley; there is a ski bus which trundles up and down the valley side - involving about 1/2 dozen hairpins. This takes you to the 'entrance' to Saas Fee and then you'd have to go from there to the lifts which is another (shortish) trek - depending on the lift. There is quite a lot of ski storage at the lift bottom though.

We really enjoyed Saas Fee - the village is very pretty and the surrounding scenery is really spectacular. Having been to Val Thorens this Easter, I have to say that the ski=ing in Saas Fee is probably a bit limited (even if you compare just to Val Thorens rather than all of the 3 valleys).
