Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I have it on my skis, definitely better than without. When I change my skis (usually every couple of years) it'll be the first thing I do to them.

@Harry Flashman, do you apply it once annually?

Just once. My dailies had it done 3 years ago, now.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@ster, yes but I’m asking what it’s like in reality…..

I skiied my powder skis today in fresh. They behaved as if freshly waxed (they had been freshly Phantom, mind).

I ski my dailies in spring slush, and they slide nicely. If not as nicely as a freshly waxed ski (IMHO). But not a lot less nicely. And a heck of a lot better than a ski woth worn out waxe.

Phantom is a compromise. I reckon. As someone said, it seems like a general all-puropose wax, freshly applied.

Good enough for me!

On application to a new ski with light coloured base (as opposed to black) it resulted in skis which stubbornly refused to slide! Full refund/replacement for the customer. They only apply to black bases now.

Hi all! Sorry for resuscitating this thread again, but just wondering if anyone knows whether there are still any concerns regarding applying Phantom Glide to light-coloured bases? Is that maybe still an issue with the latest versions?

I'm considering buying and applying it to 1 of my pairs (maybe 2, maybe 3...) but at least one of them has light-coloured bases, so I'm not so sure.

Thanks!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Phantom didn't do anything for me on some Pagoda Tour 94Cs.

@danbre2022, didn't do anything as in, you didn't feel any effect/improvement, or as in you didn't notice any issues?
Because I assume these skis already have Phantom applied at the factory, or not?

Factory applied, and I found the glide to be rather meh, not exactly superior to a neglected ski. I know people who are happy with it though.
