April 1: obviously that is a skwal, not a mono.

Saw a couple in Verbier a few weeks ago. Very good skiers on them!

I’ve spent around 10 weeks in Les Arcs/La Plagne this winter and a week in the Trois Vallees. In that time I’ve seen one mono skier and one skwal. The guy on the skwal was very skilled, a pleasure to watch for the few turns I saw him do. The guy on the monoski was having a bit of fun, but just messing around really.

Saw 6 monos in Les Arcs, and 4 in La Plagne, in one day.
Mix of young and old.
Defo an uptick.

I rode one once, on a deep heavy day. It was a good tool for the job. I only fell once, in a lift line!

Bizarrely in Les Arcs last week I saw a small team of what I can only described as 'synchronised monoskiers' - young guys wearing matching gear and practicing tricks like spins and front flips. I also saw several individual monoskiers - anecdotally I'd say more than I've ever seen, but I could obviously be wrong.

I have a monoski in the garage at home. In the skimum shop in arc 1600 today I saw the for rent at 40 euros per day. They were shorter and fatter than mine.
I saw several out today.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Don’t be mean. He’s just been to Les Arcs. It’s suddenly appeared as the top resort in all his posts. It’s quite sweet

I would imagine Les Arcs is the place for these things.
I've not been there since "Terry Waite" was kidnapped.
It was full on novelty central back then.

There was clearly a festival this week in les arcs. We were in the abrevoir tonight and they were having there presentation ceremony and showing videos on the bars screens. They looked very good.
