Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just a little moan, so I’m sure the people to take the mick will be here soon
I’m off to Northstar week of 21/3 and yes I know it’s spring skiing but this week it’s been 14 degrees and next week it’s going to be 20 degrees. That’s C not F. So I have a feeling I am going to be looking at mud and maybe more mud.
Meanwhile Silverstar just got a foot of powder in the last two days - go Canada when I’m not there!
Does anyone have any recommendations for the Truckee Tahoe California area when there isn’t any snow? I’m already thinking fat bike hire.
Thanks

Well if snow is melting then the MTB trails won't be in anything other than a muddy mess. You could go down to Reno to ride Peavine or the trails round Carson City which has been pretty much dry all winter.
Nstar though will likely be fineish though it'll have had a month of wear n tear since the last snow storm. Will corn up early doors but coverage was pretty good and there is quite a lot of snowmaking if temps get down
BA is calling a potential pattern change from 22nd so you might get lucky though it's been pretty grim reading this winter.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Agent Orange
, I was just at Silver Star, I didn't need to hear that!
Nothing wrong with spring skiing in the Sierras, we love it. Maybe you won't get the deep days you envisioned, but this year nobody got what they wanted....
What pass do you have? NS is Epic; you could also head down to Heavenly (also Epic) for a pretty day. If you are not stuck with a pass, you could make the long but beautiful drive to Mammoth. Plenty of snow there; they expect to be open into late May.
Truckee's a cool town, too. Maybe just lean into it. With low expectations, trips like this tend to surprise on the upside.

Take a trip on paddle steamer from Zephyr cove - we done a sunset trip with meal in March and it was great.
Do a ski-doo trip
Some of the hiking trails around Lake Tahoe could be open.
I'm sure the snow will be fine - I loved Northstar!
