| @Roscoe, certainly feel like I have unfinished business, so will have a look and see if March is generally better, wind wise. |
I went in March last year and there was only one windy day and that only really impacted you while on the lifts and on the highest ridges. The rest of the time it was blue bird days (apart from a snowy first day). I'm more worried about the weather being too good and ruining the slopes by lunch time.

@Roscoe, that's true. To be fair though, we had very spring like weather in Ste Foy last year (mid/end March) and in was only really the last couple of hundred meters that were chopped up/slush fest late on. Higher up stayed remarkably good.

Did you manage to ski the Fontaine Froide red run down to Ecudets? I didn't get round to it last year but wondering if it was in good condition as it descents to 1,190m.

Sadly not, though it looked like a great option with the high winds, it wasn't open. Checking the app now, it's still not open.

Strange given the amount of snow that it’s still not opening. From a quick YouTube search of the run, it looks like it might be enjoyable in sections.

For sure, especially after it snowed quite a bit after we left, certainly down to well below the 1200 mark. Maybe it needs a good accumulation, so better later in the season?

Yeah might be that. I’ll keep an eye on its daily status to see if/when it’s open. Though going late March/early April, I don’t hold much hope it will be open that late.

@Roscoe, certainly keen to hear how the resort is that late. It could well be that the wind is much kinder to you.
A few more dumps, and I can't think why that red wouldn't be open.

Have never managed to ski Fontaine Froide in the last couple of years of visiting in March (but then the snow has been very poor). It's on the sunny side and loses accumulations very quickly. They do seem to cannon it (at least, piles of artificial evident) but could also be snow farming so people can ski onto Ecudets. The little chalet at the bottom is one of the loveliest places to eat/have a drink in the Alps!

I suppose that's the whole downfall for a south facing mountain in spring. Would be good to visit that chalet and now feels like a something I need to do lol!

This was open over the weekend, assuming due to the epic dump of snow backend of last week. Closed again today but as is much of the resort with the second dump of snow!

Wow! There is similar pics/stories on Insta. Epic amounts of snow! Though not very great for those out there during half term and losing ski days to the closures!

Just over 3 weeks to go! This is the last time I book an Easter trip!! Just feels too long to wait! lol
Anyone in La Rosiere with a boots on the ground snow condition report? With all this sunshine and higher than normal temps, I'm assuming ice cream slopes by lunch time?

Most of La Ros is south facing, so not ideal for easter, but much of La Thuile is north facing, so I'd be heading for that side for most of the day if I were you. Added bonus of Italian food / coffee quality and prices.

I was there this time last year (with 5 blue bird days) and the slopes held up ok in the morning but weren't enjoyable after lunch. Popped over to Italy a couple of times but didn't think the conditions were that remarkedly better, though was skiing that in the mornings too, so didn't have the comparison of afternoon vs afternoon in each.
