Is Snowheads losing is allure or have we all become blasé ? The French and Swiss Alps have just had the most Snow in a short space of time for many decades , I can’t remember anything like this since Early Feb 99 I would have thought Snowheads would be going into meltdown with posts it all seems rather benign to me

Anybody out there is having too much fun to post. Anybody stuck at home is looking at the deaths and arguing about them. No point getting excited about somebody else’s snow, particularly when it’s killing ‘thousands’. Situation about normal.

@Le Grand Renard, I am on the forum daily..........inwardly crying that I can't take advantage as I recover from a hip replacement.
I'm sure next season will be better

I can confirm it has absolutely dumped it down in the last few days. Have just got up, it was reported about 16cm overnight at the top, looking outside resort level, i would say about 20cm at resort level! Very exciting, this week was so needed. I had almost got used to the non snow season and having to sharpen my edges every 2/3 days just to stay upright on my board due to the icy pistes . Maybe they might even open Asten, so all 3 home run options are finally open! If your visiting next week, this is the best choice you have made!

It's very similar to the windsurfing forums of old, when there were long periods of no wind people would be nagging, getting angsty etc
Then when the wind kicked in, every one was happy and things went very quiet, as it was the UK everyone could get out etc
Ironically it's the wind here this morning that I hadn't accounted for in my plans for taking various family members out, and if it makes anyone feel better, it's such a feckfest of people here currently, especially currently coming back into the valley before lunch and at the end of the day, with many groups of 20 of various abilities snaking back down the hill, and then the parking and drop off areas have to be seen to be believed.
If it wasn't for family being out, I wouldn't be anywhere near it all

For years I’ve always read how it’s bad to go away in peak week so I assumed it was that!
I’m in eastern CH and while the snow is incredible we’ve also had really poor visibility most of the week. So not really been able to take advantage of it as much as I’d like.
Agree that next week is going to be phenomenal!

It's half term in the UK - most have already had their weekly trip & some will have another trip booked for after half term.
Most expensive week of the season!
