Heading out tomorrow to ski Tues, Weds and Thurs morning. Looking like Weds could be heavy snow all day. Is it likely lifts / pistes will be closed, and if so, where would you go? I’m based at the Veysonnaz end. Would consider travelling to another area.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You can stay around Veysonnaz as you’ll have plenty of trees to aid visibility I’ve spent the whole day on the piste de l’ours going through the trees at the side on the lower half and then down to Veysonnaz.
To get over to Siviez in bad weather is a Pita with long drag lifts that are exposed

Today (Mon 26 Jan) the skiing in the Savoleyres Sector was noticeably quieter in terms of numbers, compared to last week and this weekend. Light snowfall last night topped the pistes up nicely. On-piste was nicely powdery. The Savoleyres sector was sunny most of the day and temperatures stayed below zero so the base is standing up well.
Note that there’s an FIS downhill and Super-G competition this week (27-30 Jan 2026) so the main Ruinettes-Carrefour run in Verbier will be closed for practice and competition. Look at the link for specifics.

(Wed 28 Jan) Light snow arrived earlier than forecast at about 7.30am and fell for about three hours before stopping. Restarted just after lunch and snowing more heavily now (15:30). So hopefully a nice top-up for anyone arriving in the next few days.

Absolutely stunning morning this morning after yesterdays snow. Few inches of powder and even some sunshine. The top half of Piste de l’Ours was particularly grin inducing. I’m home now (to more rain obviously) but one happy camper.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

^^^ I think that's sped up. But I've seen a couple of big wipeouts from the lift and picked up the pieces from a couple of yard sales going down the run. And first time I made sure to tell the kids, if they wanted a rest to make sure they keep their eyes up as once folk start going they can slide a fair way - as the bystander in that clip found out.
Love the descents either side of Plan du Fou though, lots of fun variety in a small area.

That is one of my absolute favorite runs IF it is in good condition.
That is also an absolute NO GO if it is hard, polished and icy!!
Every time I think about doing it I take a long hard look at the skiers on it already...viewing from the top of the cablecar.
If they are in what I call Death Slide Survival mode...it's a miss from me!
It is steep, it is long...it can be amazing, not always
