@timmytd, my idea would be to either cancel Memmingen, or Mayrhofen. It's about the worst combo thinkable

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@timmytd, there will be no such thing, as it‘s not a logical airport/destination combination. Car hire is likely to be the best bet, or do as @Langerzug suggests and change either airport or destination.

@timmytd, unless you are lucky enough to find a lift, cheapest route will probably be trains, with changes in Munich and Jenbach. Around €80 each, each way. But will take 4-5 hours, so may not work for early/late flights.

As memmingham is in bavaria get the Bayern ticket which will at least cover you on route to Kufstein then get another ticket from there

Car hire at around €200 plus fuel and the Austrian Vignette is most likely your best option. They're not particularly close locations.

Im assuming your flying ryanair from dublin? to Memmingen. Then train would be fine on your outward trip, but as the flight back is at 09-45 then train would be a challenge
Of course, you may not be dublin dep, but it would look to be car hire would be easier. You still looking at a circa 3 hr trip from resort to the airport. Add in a couple of hours to be there from etc your looking at easy 4am dep from Mayrhofen. Youd be better ( and I suspect cheaper ) to have accomodation on the night of the 23rd nearer the airport.

on the upside Memmingen airport is a small airport with very little faff, and car hire is definatly your best option. we fly to memmingen for a trip to Davos, 2hrs approx driving.

@timmytd, as mentioned driving is the most practical & sensible option. A Bayern ticket is day train ticket which covers train travel for day in the whole of Bavaria (which for these purposes includes Salzburg & Kufstein). It only covers regional trains not long distance express trains eg ICE, IC, RJ. It can be good value especially for a number of people travelling together. In your case the normal best route would be to go Bregenz and take a Vienna train, however the train line between Innsbruck & Jenbach is currently disrupted due a bridge being replaced so this isnt practical and it would be expensive (mostly outside of Bavaria). The route via Munich is longer and a bit convoluted. So a hire car is definitely the best. You have got very good snow conditions.
