My brother took these somewhere in Snowdonia on the 28th. I've asked him where exactly but he hasn't got back to me yet. He's at uni in Bangor so I'd imagine not far from there. Might have to go see him and take my skis! Must be something skiable round there.
Edit: Apparently it's Ffynnon Lloer (bl00dy stupid place name or what... ). Apparently it was quite icy but they have had a load more since.
I think they were taken more for artiness than to show the snow conditions though...
The Ogwen valley on the A5. Its lovely around there. It always gets the most snow if there has been a dump.

Ricklovesthepowder, Given how stony the gullies are it'll need a lot more than that to get some Snowdonia descents in
We want more snow.

Shropshire Hills white over this morning. Sadly I'm not fit to be having a go other wise it would have been tempting. My niece who lives next to The Lawley reckons there was quite a bit.

surfski, blimey! We certainly didn't get that down here. There was dusting at 1000ft upwards, but I don't imagine that even Pen y Fan has any real depth.

AndAnotherThing.., I'm guessing there would be even more snow but very wind blown. Looking from my house this morning there looks to still be a very good cover of snow on the nearby hills and last night temperatures was just below freezing so the snow should stay up there for a few days.
The snow only eased off around 7pm last night so i reckon it will be even deeper than when i was up there around 3pm.

surfski, Cool - that's not so high I'm guessing, so even more on the tops
We had a drive around South Shropshire today and came back via the Long Mynd and Church Stretton. The hills were white over in places but the reads didn't look so bad....
^^ Always trust the sign "closed due to snow". Will save 1/2 mile of reversing down a single track road.
^^ A few locals who were engrossed with licking the salt of the road. They looked in really good condition so couldn't be lacking in too much.
^^ Caer Caradoc in the center. Still waiting to score first tracks in the gullies. Next Winter

British Summer Time here in S Wales, not that you'd know it this morning.
The temperature plummeted overnight and a biting wind and fequent downpours accompanied me on my morning walk earlier.
The Met Office is calling for wintry showers in the Brecon Beacons today and below freezing temperatures overnight

Mike Pow, I'm doing a Nav refresher course there in October so I'll get an idea of the ground. I need to pick up the OS map shortly so we'll have to share some grid refs - geek style !
