When things go wrong....... so I bought two pairs of identical leki sl trigger poles from the same supplier, exactly the same packing exactly the same product code and bar code, got all the tools out, along with a nice australian shiraz, black pig lovely wine, ready to get them sorted to xmas...... just one small slight difference......one will take a hand guard, one wont bit of a b****r when youve got two kids expecting the same for xmas!! I put this down to the fact that if it can go wrong for xmas i usually find it does, but does anyone have any sensible answers as to how this happens, or have i just got a rouge pair of poles?????

iskar, They all look red on the website to me.
What is stopping the one pair taking a hand guard ?

iskar, What do the grips look like ? Looking here, some have an icon that looks like the retaining pin you describe, some don't.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

thats the point, theyve both got retaining pins, they are the same poles same length, but one pair just doesnt have the lug that the retaining pin releases. Maybe i need to contact leki themselves.

I thought you'd just spilt your wine ......
Going out on limb here - did you contact the supplier, perchance, and discuss with them why the products were sold as the same but were in fact different? Call me daft but I feel this would get you a swifter response than arguing the toss with Leki.

iskar, That is not a trigger S

the 'problem' pair just dont have this 'lug' its solid!!

SL pole then. The trigger S speed models don't take WC handguard. The Trigger SL you need is more expensive so you've been done if one is not the same as the other contact the seller.

the thing is, they are both sl trigger s, as i said all the leki branded stuff (thers quite a bit) the straps the nice little ski bind for the trigger poles, the tiny little airplane the key ring the sticker etc etc the handle the shaft etc etc etc are 100% identical, its just the top of the grip, both have the 'trigger' but one doesnt have the small round lug that comes out to allow the insert to go in. The product codes are even identical...

iskar, Then they are a faulty labelled pair, they must have the lug for them to be a WC Trigger S SL pole particularly if they came with guards? . What does the seller say? He is the man to sort your problem, the stock comes in, none is kept by the importer in this country they just take an order from the retailer.
