Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Second-hand (just) boots

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A couple of years ago my wife bought some new boots - I wasn't part of this transaction I hasten to add. So we go away on hols and she finds she can't get them on as her calves are too big. Goodness knows how she got them on in the shop but she swears she did and they were comfy. Anyhow I try to persuade to take back to shop for exchange as she's only ever had them on in the shop (and maybe at home walking around). Anyway, to cut a long story short she didn't and they are still in the loft. They didn't fit last year (again) and probably never will. Is there much of a second-hand market for such boots ? They were pretty decent and cost ~ 170 GBP as far as I know. It seems silly to hang onto them despite my wife saying "but I like them".

Negligible value I would have though. She should take them to a decent bootfitter or the shop where she bought them from and try to get them to sort them out. might be cheaper just to start again

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

EB say they will always try to sort out problems even years after purchase. So must be worth a try going back. Second hand market on ebay might give you a 30 quid return.

If you return to EB they give you 75% of the value of the boots back (as long as you've used them for less than 2 weeks). Not sure what the top end time limit is on these...

if it is just round the calves then it should be fairly easy to have them adjustd, a bit of heat and some clever stretchingor moving of buckles should solve most calf issues pretty quickly

where are you, we may be able to suggest someoen who can do the work locally to you

In Woking. I've been to Profeet in SW London myself for another problem with my feet and ski boots; never occurred to me so may give it a try
