Poster: A snowHead

This is my first post on this pretty cool looking site so 'howdy everyone'.
Just wondering if anyone had any tips on repairing the top surface of a snowboard?
After the masses of snow that we had towards the end of last season i decided to take my brand new board up to Cairngorm to try it out.
Whilst drawing on a well earned ciggie at the bottom of a particular run an out of control Jock decided to use the top edge of my new board as a braking device cutting a deep groove through the sidewall in the process.
At the time i was releived i still had feet attached to my legs and it wasnt until later i noticed the nasty battle scars on my board.
Is there anything i can do to repair this? dont want to experiment and ruin it completely!
Any tips would be appreciated
Cheers

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm guessing it isn't deep enough to let water in to the core?
If it's just superficial damage I'd just cover the board with stickers or I would be tempted to get a stencil and do my own spray paint design on top. If it's more serious damage that would let water into the board I wouldn't have the first clue what to do to fix it other than take it to a repair shop. Unless you are proper into DIY and that sort of stuff fixing a board is quite tricky, a couple of people on here might know about that sort of stuff though.

Similar thing happened to my skis, the nice peeps on here agreed that the best way to fix it is by filling the holes with flexable, waterproof epoxy resin.
You can find them in most DIY stores. It keeps the water out of the core and won't crack as the board flexes.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Cheers for the response dudes !
Think il have a go with the epoxy resin trick, itl look a bit better if nothing else.
Might just have to bite the bullet tho and pay 30 quid for a service, as long as the sidewall isnt wrecked it should b fixable.
Cheers again for the advice!

You can buy a product called Dr Ding - we do not sell it (why not - maybe we should!) but I know you can get it from windsurf shops where it is used for the same purpose.
