Poster: A snowHead
|
I've been asked a few times about the possibility of having a few boards to check out this weekend.
Well, as a bit of a treat, this will actually be the very first opportunity in the UK to try out the new Elan 'El Grande' - the widest (production) board in the world.
We'll also have an Elan 'Inverse' : lightest board on the planet.
And an Elan 'Artec' : for the more dicerning snowBoarder (aparently)
Also something tasty from Swiss maker, Radical Freeride.

admin, We boarders do seem to be a bit insular, which is odd 'cos nearly every boarder I've met is completely laid-back. Is it our 'relaxed' attitude to the minutiae of technique and kit that skiers obsess about that makes us feel 'persona non grata' to the two plankers? I think that there's an element of jealousy here, Boarding is more physically demanding to use efficiently on piste yet in deep powder we're much more fluid and stable, the change in technique is not huge and can be mastered in a few runs and can enhance your ability on the harder stuff . Is it the ability of a boarder to head off into the untracked without the need to make radical changes to equipment and technique the fundamental cause of irritability? I don't know but there is still a gap in communication amongst us that doesn't benefit snowsport.
Yeah, we need more boarders at the test . . . but 24 hours notice is just a wee bit short . . . next year different?

Well hopefully but we're Chicken/egging it a little - We'd get more Boards if more Boarders were interested. Of course more Boarders would be interested if we got more boards.
Sorry to break this to u but I don't think there'll be much opportunity to "head off into the untracked " tomorrow
