FIRE DESTROYS LIFT IN TIGNES
A blaze has destroyed the top station of the TC gondola.
Helicopters had to bring in water so the fire could be brought under control.
The flames leapt above the roof of the building and a thick column of black smoke could be seen from many miles away

As reported on the Tignes thread, it was an accident caused by a thermal torch being used to dismantle the thing ahead of the new one being built. Lucky it didn't spread to the Boisses lift though.
