Poster: A snowHead

Never used these ski depot boxes before. A bit puzzled by the pricing. Intersport rental say you rent a comfort box for 4 persons. and you may put in this box: 4 pairs of skis, 4 pairs of poles, 4 pairs of boots and 4 helmets. Drying system with warm air. Fresh air lemon system. Sounds lovely - but then there are four ticks to rent one of these each . Surely we only need to rent one & share it. is the issue that there is only one key? Which is why renting two boxes for two people is cheaper.......

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

they are pretty big, top and bottom of the Penkenbhan. they are restricted to 4 people because of the boot hook and the vertical ski carriers.
They are unlocked using a digital code put into a central computer terminal

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@csmith, you just link your lift pass to the locker to open. You can link as many passes as you like. So 4 cards for 4 people.

thanks just debating now whether to tie ourselves to penken for collecting our kit each day. last time in Mayrhofen we travelled to the other lifts along the valley to get up as there were no queues & the bus was so good. Lots of choices.

Our last Mayrhofen visit was about three years ago ..... we rented direct in self catering house & drove. Which meant we could drive to lifts or get the bus primarily to avoid the Penken queues but I see there a new lift system there - does it really help the morning scrum?
We used luggis ski hire. They were fine for us and good value. We used Luggi on recommendation of snowheads. Are they still as good? Just seen some contrasting review on TA but that always attracte a particular type of complainer.

@csmith, if we have waited more than 3 mins in the morning I would be surprised (and that’s in school holidays).
