Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

After taking my boots back to where I bought them to discuss this, it was decided that "Booster" straps aren't going to work for my boots.

Therefore, I now need to contact Head direct. Unfortunately, I can't see any "Contact Us" facility on their website.

Does anyone have any contact details for Head's customer services in the UK/Europe ?

ukredsox, think Head is part of Amer Sports. They must have some method of contacting them or be able to put you in touch.

Not sure why Booster straps won't work though - should work on any boot with a velcro strap. Did the place you took them to sell Booster straps? I got some recently at Ski Bartlett, who can fit them too.

Mistress Panda, Salomon and Atomic are part of the Amer sports group, Head is not

they like most of thee companies do not deal directly with the public, best to go through a retailer who stocks head boots, although i am wondering what boot you have that a booster won't work on... whilst i don't think i have any branded Head powerstraps i have a pile of other straps which may fit

Mistress Panda Yes, the shop sells Power Straps. There were two or three people from the shop working an my boots. They couldn't find a way to remove the remains of the original velcro strap without damaging the boot.

Also, even if they had have been able to remove it and thread the replacement thro' the back of the boot, the Booster Strap itself would have been too short to reach round the front.

ukredsox, from what i remember the older edge boots the power strap threads in and oput at the back of the boot, a couple of rivets need to be removed but that is no biggy, depending on the exact construction they may be surplus to requirements or may need to be replaced either with screw in rivets or new press rivets

the booster should fit onto that boot without any issues as the powerstrap still only wraps the top of the boot, it doesn't take a longer route, if it doesn't and it is a Booster that you want to use then we simply extend it by stitching a longer piece of webbing onto it or cutting it and riveting it either side of the rear of the shell

all it takes is a bit of thought and the confidence that all things can the taken apart and rebuilt with the correct parts

ukredsox, off the wall suggestion, if you find a mechanism to get the old straps off, how about buying a cheap batty pair of old similar head boots from ebay and cannibalising them for the Velcro strap? A SH may even have an old pair. I know I've kept my old ones just in case there is ever anything that I need from them.

Lockwoods replaced the power straps on the wife's Head boots a week or so ago. Longest part of the job was finding a replacement pair of about the correct length. Then took a few minutes to work out how to remove the old ones (2 bolts - but not obvious) and the new ones are fine despite being branded Atomic.

 You know it makes sense.

Youngster was also complaining that his new Atomic Redsters weren't as good as his old boots - much less rebound. But the old one did have a Booster Strap on them. So I removed the power strap from his new boots (needed drilling out as the strap was riveted on) and moved the booster strap across from his old boots - fortunately the bolt pattern was unchanged.

One bolt on back of boot releases broken strap. Also adjusts back height. My friend s strap broke at hole. Just overlapped them drilled new hole and rebolted together. Strap slightly shorter but still servicable.

Went to xcape in Leeds to get ready for Bulgaria in January. Possibly to Alston club if it snows before then and strap broke last Friday. Checked website while my friend sorted boot out. Posted so any info useful. Regards Harry.
